Lockport Food Festival

April 24-25-26-27, 2014

Sneak-A-Peak Night!

If you carnival rides this is your night all rides $1.00.  Foods include Hanburgers, hotdogs, Chicken-On-A-Stick and famous deep fried Oreo Cookies and Snicker Bars.

Come Hungry!

If you love food, then you must head on down to the Lockport Food Festival – La Fete Du Monde. The event will be held April 24, 25, 26 and 27, 2014 off Church Street in Downtown Lockport. You can expect the best assortment of Cajun foods, great music, dancing, a carnival with rides and your favorite festival foods. There is no gate fee and only one stipulation: you must come hungry.

Food for All

Some of the foods you can expect to eat include jambalaya, gumbo, seafood po-boys, crawfish pies, fried fish and alligator sauce picante. Other favorites worth talking about are crawfish etouffee, griads, nuggets and white  beans.  If, for some odd reason, you are not in the mood for Cajun foods, you can indulge in festival favorites such as freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.

Live Music

Starting on Friday, April 25, musical guests Good Feelings and Halifax will perform. The musical guests will continue through Sunday evening and include Southern Boyz, Louisiana Road House Band, Vintage, Contraflow, Tet-Dur and Blue Eyed Soul Revue. Each act lasts approximately three hours, so be sure to come on down and celebrate your favorite artists and their timeless music.

Admission prices for pay one price arm bands, but if you plan to make a weekend out of eating and dancing, all weekend and anytime use wrist bands are $50.00 in advance only at Lockport Town Hall, $65.00 if purchased at Festival Grounds.  Don’t miss out on this great event where fun, music, food and dancing come together under one tent.

Lockport and Lafourche Parish

Lockport is located in the heart of Lafourche Parish and is situated where the old intercoastal canal meets Bayou Lafourche. This scenic location is a prime spot for fishing and catching wildlife, but Lockport remains a residential area that is surrounded by shipbuilding and oil and gas industries. To pay tribute to the town of Lockport, there is the beautiful Lafourche Folklife and Heritage Museum, the Bayou Playhouse, the Center for Traditional Louisiana Boat Building and the Bayou Side Park.

The Lockport Food Festival is a wonderful time to come together, celebrate the current culture and past history of Lockport and Lafourche Parish and indulge in some of the best Cajun foods.  We are known for our great food, dancing and music that takes place under large tents off Church Street.
