Lockport and Lafourche Parish
Lockport is located in the heart of Lafourche Parish and is situated where the old intercoastal canal meets Bayou Lafourche. This scenic location is a prime spot for fishing and catching wildlife, but Lockport remains a residential area that is surrounded by shipbuilding and oil and gas industries. To pay tribute to the town of Lockport, there is the beautiful Lafourche Folklife and Heritage Museum, the Bayou Playhouse, the Center for Traditional Louisiana Boat Building and the Bayou Side Park.
The Lockport Food Festival is a wonderful time to come together, celebrate the current culture and past history of Lockport and Lafourche Parish and indulge in some of the best Cajun foods. We are known for our great food, dancing and music that takes place under large tents off Church Street.
